Tips for setting exams

Writer: Melodi Van der MerweMelodi Van der Merwe

I'm not old enough to have lived in the days when you gave your hand-written exam to a receptionist to type on a typewriter or even a computer, but I know from various colleagues that this was the case.

I'm fortunate to have learned to type in school (on a typewriter!) and also that I ended up choosing CAT as my second subject when studying for my degree.

In this blog post, I will share with you some very basic tips on how to get the layout of your exam, test, assignment or anything else that has been giving you a headache, just right.

The not-so-secret is tables. The videos below will show you step-by-step how to use a table to set a professional looking exam paper.

Of course, this simple trick is not only for Life Sciences teachers, so feel free to share with your colleagues.
